Instruction

Demos will be in soft pastel, however oil painters will receive instruction as well, all with an emphasis on getting perspective correct. My goal with each student is to help introduce structures into the landscape. I will briefly explain the laws of perspective as they apply to your chosen composition. 

You will have the option to paint in the studio, in our yard, or in the on the sidewalks in our historic neighborhood. Short trips may be offered to nearby Anderson Japanese Gardens, Nicholas Conservatory or downtown Rockford. 

Early evenings will offer critiques of the day's work along with appetizers and wine or soft drinks. A full dinner is available on your own from many of the locally-sourced independent restaurants just a mile away in downtown Rockford.

 

Lodging 

We offer lodging for 8 students, in addition to 5 hours daily of instruction, breakfast, lunch and evening group critique with appetizers and wine.
